Bathrooms and bedrooms are the places where we see them most, but mirrors can be used when decorating any room. From round to rectangular, wall-mounted or standing, mirrors come in a variety of shapes, sizes, and designs. In this blog post, I’ll explain three ways to decorate with mirrors in your home that will add the “wow” factor and elevate any room.

Light Reflection

Want to make your room feel larger? A mirror might just be what your space needs. Opt for a large wall-mounted or leaning mirror that can reflect light into your room. A mirror can make your room feel like it has more space and more light when placed across from a window. What’s more, if your windows provide a gorgeous view, you can enjoy looking at it from other angles in the room through the reflection.

Focal Furniture

Introduce a touch of glam with a mirrored furniture piece.  The reflective surface draws the eye’s attention and can create a stunning focal point in a room.  When decorating any space, I love to incorporate a little bit of sparkle and this is one way to add another texture to your room's decor.

Decorating Tip: Balance the mirrored look with decor and accessories made of different materials and textured sheen to contrast with the shiny surface of the mirrored furniture piece.

Accessories That Shine

If mirrored furniture is not your style, try incorporating mirrored accessories to create beautiful vignettes throughout your home. How elegant it would look to have a mirrored tray with a candle and flowers atop a wooden coffee table!

From decorative trays to vases to storage boxes, there’s a variety of options that can also be functional pieces. In my home office, I have mirrored storage drawers that sit on my desk and I just love the little bit of shine it adds to the room. A similar reflective/shiny look can be achieved with silvered glass and polished metal decor.
